Legal marks of verification and stamping
Apart from particular arrangements provided by legal decrees regulating a category of measuring instruments, metrological control marks are constituted as following:
Model approval mark:
A rectangular frame comprising a characteristic number, a dash, the last two digits of the year of the model approval grant.
Primitive check mark:
Primitive check mark is in the shape of a scale with two snakes entwined around the needle.
When this mark is applied to locking or sealing devices, it should be destructible when attempting removal.
Periodic check mark:
Periodic check mark is a mark in the shape of Arabic character fixed every year by a decree from the minister of commerce, or a sticker comprising the identification of the validity of stamping.
For example, for the year 2015: The Arabic character "م" immediately followed by the letter (A) or a sticker comprising the date of validity of periodic verification:
When affixation of the label is not appropriate, the marking is performed by a stamp on a lead plate attached to the instrument.
Refusal mark:
It is A 5-pointed star, or a sticker comprising the prohibition of use.
Whenever the affixation is done inappropriately, the marking is to be performed by a stamp on a lead plate attached to the instrument.
